Simultaneous PCR detection of fourteensexually transmitted pathogens enables early identification of infections that can have serious consequences if not treated in time and can lead to serious diseases.
Test based on PCR identification of the DNA of the 14 most common pathogens that cause STDs, which enables simultaneous detection of these pathogens in a single test:
Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) Mycoplasma hominis (MH) Mycoplasma genitalium Trichomonas vaginalis Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) Ureaplasma parvum (UP) Candida albicans (CA) Gardnerella vaginalis (GV) Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV2) Treponema pallidum (TP) Group B Streptococcus (GBS) Haemophilus ducreyi (HD).
You will also be able to complement the 14 pathogens with viral tests: HBV, HCV, HIV-1 multiplex: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1
Early detection is essential for the implementation of appropriate treatment measures to prevent transmission between healthy people

The importance of the STD test
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections caused by pathogens that are transmitted from person to person through sexual contact and can also be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy or childbirth.
Beyond the infection itself, STDs can have serious consequences if not treated in time. Sometimes they are asymptomatic, while others experience clinical manifestations including sores, discomfort during urination, abnormal genital discharge, vaginal bleeding, pain during intercourse, fever, and other symptoms.
Early detection is essential for the implementation of appropriate treatment measures to prevent transmission between healthy people, which is why it is so important to test for sexually transmitted diseases in time.
Unlike serological methods that have long window periods after exposure to one of the pathogens causing STDs, molecular biology techniques are more sensitive, and allow testing within a few days of the risk contact, as well as achieving a more specific diagnosis.

STD test results
The results will be available within 7 working days of collection of the sample.
You can use the quick access option on the Mi Quirónsalud login page: www.quironsalud.es/portal-paciente/es or, if you prefer, you can enter with your username and password (remember that they will be the same as those used in e-Quirónsalud), to see the results on the platform.
The report with the results should be reviewed in a consultation with a general practitioner or specialist, taking account of the patient’s clinical condition. For questions or queries: geneticaqs@quironsalud.es or info@e-quironsalud.es.
To test for Sexually Transmitted Diseases:
Response times are estimates. If the result is not available within the specified time period, no refund or compensation will be offered. If the test is inconclusive due to non-interpretable results, a second sample will be requested.
Bear in mind that the complexity of genetic studies sometimes requires the performance of procedures specifically designed for each patient, and therefore delivery times may sometimes be longer in order to obtain comprehensive results.
